Belén Rojí is a Green Mini-Grids Analyst at the African Development Bank’s Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA), with a background in international relations and a strong interest in the social and economic impact of energy access. As part of SEFA’s Mini-Grid team, she supports market development, donor coordination, and data-driven planning to advance clean energy access through initiatives such as the Africa Mini-Grid Market Acceleration Programme (AMAP) and various Country Programmes. Her work focuses on Francophone countries, contributing to the successful design and implementation of mini-grid and off-grid energy projects. Prior to joining SEFA, she served as an International Trade Advisor at the Spanish Commercial Bureau in Algiers.


Samuel Bunnya

Samuel S. Bunnya l is a finance and banking major from Makerere University in Uganda, with extensive experience in project execution. He is the Projects Coordinator at the African Forum for Utility Regulators (AFUR), where he is in charge of all their projects in the sectors of Energy, Transport, Water and Sanitation, and Communication. His work with AFUR has seen the successful execution of AFUR’s mini-grid project among many other projects aimed at leading towards the development of the African continent. Prior to his work with AFUR, he was an Associate at Frank Energy Consultants.


Olamide Niyi-Afuye

Olamide Niyi-Afuye (‘Lamide) is CEO of the Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA), driving strategies to expand Africa’s minigrid sector and achieve universal modern energy access by 2030 (SDG7). He holds an LLB from the University of Kent and an LLM from the University of Birmingham. His diverse experience spans law, financial markets, investments, and renewable energy. ‘Lamide has worked at William Bailey Solicitors, Wole Olanipekun & Co., and FMDQ Securities Exchange. Before AMDA, he was Strategic Advisor at Mainstream Energy Solutions, overseeing key hydropower investments.


Anita Otubu

Anita Otubu Senior Director at Sustainable Energy for All, leading the Universal Energy Facility—a multi-donor initiative funding renewable energy projects across Sub-Saharan Africa to boost access and reliability with lasting social and business impact. Previously, she led Nigeria’s $550M Electrification Project, enabling over 1 million connections and powering education institutions. With experience advising senior government officials, she worked in Nigeria’s Vice President’s office and as a legal advisor to the Minister of Power. Anita serves on key advisory boards including the UN, World Bank, AfDB, and GOGLA, driving clean energy transformation across Africa.

Fauzia Okediji

Fauzia Chevonne Okediji is an experienced energy professional specializing in sustainable energy access, utility innovation, and policy reform across Africa. As Manager of Utility Innovation and Distributed Renewables at the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), she leads programs scaling distributed renewable energy and grid solutions to improve access and livelihoods. She spearheaded Nigeria’s Interconnected Mini-grid program, delivering 3MW solar capacity and reliable electricity to thousands. Fauzia previously advised GIZ on off-grid energy models and worked as an engineer at Niger Delta Power. She holds a Master’s from Leeds, certifications in renewable energy and project management, and has earned multiple fellowships and awards.
